I read a book to the kids about wanting to be just like dad. Afterwards, I asked the kids if they want to be like me when they growup. David said yes! Adam said no. When I asked why, he pointed to my hair. He said my hair is too long. I asked him if there was anything else with his old man and he changed the subject......
Katie stepped out and Adam said i will miss mommy. i said "yes, i also have an emotional attachment to her." Adam said "show me" kids these days!
while getting ready for bath time, Rebekah threw a stock at David right in the face. he calmly picked it off the floor and ran to his room and put out in the dirty clothes hamper. the old stock in your face didn't phase David!
David asked where's daddy? Mom said Idaho. David said "I'm not a hoe!"
It's good to be back!
Adam and David were filling up a bucket when Adam said "put more in the offering plate David" , as David poured water into the bucket.
I told David that I loved him yesterday. He told me that he loves bacon. Adam said you can't love bacon, you eat bacon.
I could not be prouder!
If you find a tear in the space/time continuum, it may have been from Adam. I saw his this week wearing packers socks and a vikings jacket. I'm not into sports, but I know that's the situation when bad stuff happens in scifi.
No, I don't know where the packers socks came from!
So today I was outside with the boys. I saw a table full of guns, like a scene from Matrix. I grabed one and went for Adam. I said stick-em-up. I shot him a few times. He said, no no daddy. I'm playing with bubles. So I moved to David.
David was playing with one of those big red with a yellow top cars. He had just gotten out. I shot him a few time grand theft auto style. He held out his hand for the gun. I handed it to him, expected retaliation. He aim it towards his chest and fired off two shots with a bored look on his face. Sort of saying, wow Dad big deal. Then he handed me back the gun with a look of dissapointment.
Maybe tomorrow Daddy!
This morning I left my two boys with the nanny and drove my minivan to work. I saw the new Costco that's scheduled to be finished in just a few weeks. I thought about how great it would be and how excited I am about the new Costco.
I'm officially an old man.
This morning I felt sick, yep I got another cold from these kids. As I curmudgeonly put my shoes on, I feel something of a rock in my dress shoes. That doesn't seem right? It appears that one of the boys smuggled a piece of waffle into the front room (a secure room) and stuffed it in my shoe. So chalk one up on the fatherhood board for random junk in my shoes.
These kids today!
The site has been optimized! The main pages are pretty much all cached, so they should be faster. The video and pics page should be quite noticeably faster. I also speed things up slightly on the more buttons.
Facebook share this links were added. Although I plan to clean them up a bit.
Adam just pointed at the bac of my mac and said "Apple!". Oh boy!
The About page has been redesigned. I'm still trying to figure out how to nicely display data from CDC without filling up the chart.
So I put on my new pants this morning. As I was feeding David he spit-up. With cat like reflexes I swooped in with the burb-rag and caught all the spit-up. I was pretty proud of myself. Then the doorbell rang. As I got up I noticed a chocolate like substance on my pants. Then I realized it wasn't chocolate. Then I realized it was all over my shirt and hands. David's diaper was overflowing.
When I got to work, it started to drizzle. I figured the umbrella wasn't worth the trouble. Then when I was about 100ft from the door. It down poured! I was soaked by the time I got into the office.
At least I got to deal with the Illinois Department of Employment Securities. Yea, because we have a nany we have to pay unemployement. That's fine. We received a letter indicating that our "account" was terminated at our request. So I called. The nice lady told me that the system said my accout was closed at my request. I said what request. She said I needed to fax them a letter saying the termination was in error. I guess they don't keep a file? Finally, the day got better. I found a fax to IDES after a conversation with the same lady. Last year they misspelled my name. At least they are consistant. I'm just worried about what they did with the form and check I sent them last month. At least nobody cashed it yet.
Maybe Daddy will take the day off tomorrow.
I hope everyone likes the new changes to the news section. I show a list of everyones news now. You can still click on the Family names on the top of the page to view the pages old-school. You can also click on the names on the news list, a la facebook-style.
I just updated the site. New colors. New fancy javascripting for news posting. Next I will clean-up the guestbook. Enjoy
Yea, it was a surprise birthday party. Now I know why I got so much computer time! Anyway, around 1:30 Micky showed-up. We went to see Alice in Wonderland. I was wondering where Katie was? Then Katie showed-up after the movie. Micky left. I figured Micky and Jenny got kid duty. Then a trip to the apple store. Then sushi. That's when I saw my dad come out of the bathroom and knew something was up. It was great seeing everyone.
I even got a mac cake! Not a cake with a mac on it, but a cake that looked like a macbook pro opened. With keyboard keys and all. The function keys for lights, volume, etc.. were even there. Awesome!
I wonder how Katie is going to top this next year?...
