Adam : Dec 19, 2010 No more kid shows for this guy

Mommy was trying to get me to watch tv yesterday and I said, no Pooh and no choo-choo. Finally she realized what I wanted. Futurama! I could watch that show 24/7. Mommy just shakes her head. I'm a big boy now. No more Disney for me. Love, Adam

Adam : Nov 07, 2010 Cough! Cough!

Greetings.  I am feeling a little under the weather these days and I have effectively contaminated the house.  It's nothing major so I just tell everyone to suck it up.  Just a lot of runny noses.  Not a whole lot going on on my end these days.  I've just been busy keeping the house running.  Last night, mommy wanted to play, but I wasn't in the mood.  She started doing her pouty face so I walked over to the kleenex box and got her a weakness tissue and walked away.  There!  These women.  And I hear we're adding another one.  Oh boy!  We're going to need more kleenex in this house.

Yesterday morning daddy was making waffles.  While he made breakfast I went and gathered all of my friends to sit at the table.  I put Mickey, Barney (who I dressed in a turtleneck that morning), Elmo, and another Elmo in different chairs around the table.  Then I pulled up my mini chairs to the big table so there would be enough seating.  When daddy gave me my waffles I sat in my tiny chair at the big table and I could barely see my plate, but it's important to give your guests the best seats in the house.  Then I grabbed some waffles and forks for my friends and we sat at the table and ate in silence.

Last weekend was halloween.  I was very cranky when I got up from my nap and was in no mood to get into a costume.  Mommy & Daddy put a spiderman costume over all of my clothes and when I realized I got to walk to people's doors and ring the doorbell I was in a much better mood.  Then we went to the grandparents house and Great Gmas.  It was great.  Nana walked me around her neighborhood and we got a lot of candy.  Speaking of candy...hmm...where did it go??  I had fun seeing Uncle Bryan and Aunt Kristin as well.  More people to tickle me!

Well, I have to get ready for church now to learn about "Jee-jus"

Adam : Sep 28, 2010 Hmmm...Let's See....

Dear Friends and Family,

It's been awhile since I've posted anything.  You see it's been David's birthday month so the attention has been more on him. Well, I should say, more on him than usual.  I still demand most of the attention around here.  I've been very busy this past month learning new words and songs.  I can even count to 10 now (well I skip the number one and start with two, but that's close right).  My favorite songs are Jesus Loves Me, Skim-a-rinkee dink-a-dink, Happy Birthday, and my ABC's.  I've finally picked up the phrase "MORE" this month and I use it for EVERYTHING!  Mommy has even started taking me to Sunday School and I love it.  I get so excited when I see all of the other kids.

I got to sleep over at my grandparents this weekend and I had my very own Mickey Mouse sleeping bag!  It was great.  I also now think that there is a baby growing in my tummy.  I can say the word Baby very well and I'll lift up my shirt and point to my tummy and say baby.  Then I say "Shhh" and put my shirt over my tummy and say "Nigh Nigh Baby."  My mom thinks this is funny, but it's a lot of work to put my baby to bed.

Okay, well back to bed for me.  I'll try to write more often.

Sincerely,

Adam Michael

Adam : Sep 07, 2010 The Land of 10,000 Lakes

The family just spent the nice long weekend in MN with the Karius family.  I got to see Grandma & Grandpa and Aunt Suzy, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Adam.  Plus all of the "Greats" (aunts, uncles, grandparents).  I even got to play with bubbles with my cousin Naomi.  She's always on her best behavior so I had to work hard this weekend to try to be good as well.  Overall, my parents said they were proud of me for being such a good big boy, so I think the weekend was a success.

This trip mommy and daddy brought along a sleeping bag and I got to sleep on the floor like a big boy.  Our first night daddy was trying to show me how to get into the sleeping bag.  He lifted it open and I dived in head first.  Daddy indicated that this was not correct.  I was thankful since it was very dark and warm inside the sleeping bag.  After 4 more failed attempts diving in head first daddy finally showed me with my mickey doll how to climb into a sleeping bag.  I climbed in feet first and did not move for the entire night.  I did great all weekend and was very proud to have a sleeping bag to call my own.

During David's party on Sunday, Grandpa pulled out his Model A car (the first car ever built by Henry Ford).  Grandpa was giving everyone at the party rides.  I've been in it before, but had to have mommy and daddy hold me.  This time I walked right up to the car and put Mickey in the seat and then sat myself between Mickey and Grandpa and held on and was ready to go.  I'm a big boy now and don't need mommy and daddy to go with me.  I had SO much fun!

I have a new name for Aunt Suzy.  I now just make elephant noises when I see her because that's what she sounds like when she blows her nose.  How something so loud can come out of Aunt Suzy I'll never know.  I also taught her to lock bathroom doors, since I have a habit of opening whatever door I feel like whenever I feel like it.  Aunt Sarah was my morning buddy and I even let her put me to bed (which I usually only leave to mama).  She liked to sit on the deck with me and sing songs at night with me.

One thing I love at grandma's house are all the birds.  There's one real bird (which I have to see the second I get to grandma's house even if it is 1 a.m.).  Then there's the cuckoo clock that cracks me up every time it chimes.  Then on the way downstairs there are little tweet tweets on the ledge that I have to say hello to every time I walk by.

Well, those were the highlights of my trip. I can't wait until it's time to come to MN again.

Adam : Aug 24, 2010 Stupid Wall

So I was at the restaurant with Dad. I demanded to wash my hands. Then after he opened the door, I said no. I then closed the door and opened it back up. I'm a big boy now. I was so proud of myself! Then I started walking. I guess I was distracted. I walked right into the wall. Dad was laughing! It hurts when you walk into walls! Stupid wall!  Tongue out

Adam : Aug 18, 2010 My first haircut

Dada was getting a haircut tonight by mama and I wanted in on the action. So, I sat on dada's lap while mama cut my hair. She didn't do a very good job, but I look a lot more like a big boy now (with lopsided sideburns). I also have my 2nd molars. So, I'm a chomping away as usual.

Dada made dinner tonight and he made me a big MAN-wich. I took a nice big bite and then looked at mama and started whining and crying. I spit it all out in mama's hand. Yuck! What kind of a man would eat that. More like a DOG-wich! Give it to David. That kid will eat anything. Then mama made me some leftover pizza. Of course, I couldn't eat my pizza until we prayed again. This is a completely different meal, so we have to pray again.

Off to bed. Love ya!

Adam : Aug 11, 2010 Dance Machine

That's right ladies. I am a dance machine! Ever since my trip out to Michigan moving and grooving with Trevor and Aiden I dance at any chance I get. I learned some good moves from my buddies. Right now I am on my 5th choo choo soul and I say, "Chugga Chugga Schh! Aww Abow!" Translation - Chugga chugga schh! All aboard! I like the beat box one. I'm pretty good at beat boxing.

Mama is getting sick of choo choo soul, but you can't stop an artist!

Aww Abow!

Adam : Aug 07, 2010 I like Waweyes!

Tonight mama was putting me to bed and I insisted that she read me the Minnesota ABCs book. When mama got to W is for walleye I shouted "Waweye!!!"

We walked to a mexican restaurant tonight. David fell asleep and slept in his stroller, but I got to sit at the table with mama and dada. I unrolled my silverware and started putting chips on my plate. Then when the soup came out we all prayed and then ate. Later our main course came. Mama and dada started to eat but I just looked at them and folded my hands. They tried to tell me we already prayed but I wouldn't take no for an answer. So, we all prayed again. These parents!

Nigh Nigh!

Adam : Jul 23, 2010 Fishing w/ Grandpa

I was in MN last week and got to go fishing with grandpa and daddy. Grandpa got me a new fishing pole and I played with it on the boat. I liked figuring out the rod and reel. A half hour later I decided I was done fishing and I threw my rod into the lake and walked away. Dada and Grandpa tried to rescue my pole but it was gone. Oh well. I was done with it anyway.

I was bored waiting for mommy and daddy to wake up this morning. So, I decided to get out of my big boy bed and climb into my old crib. Then I realized I was stuck in the crib. So I started calling out, "Up. Up." Mama came in and shook her head at me. "What?"

Love,

Adam

Adam : Jul 12, 2010 Hmmm...

I went shopping with mommy today. As we walked down the aisles I would look at the items and go "hmmm..." as I tapped my finger to my lips. Then I would say, "That One." Then when mommy was putting the food on the checkout counter I tapped my finger to my lips and said, "Hmmm.." and pointed to the M&Ms. She said, no. Then I said, "Let's See." "Hmmm.." "That One." and he pointed to the snickers. Mommy still said no, but was very impressed with my word usage. Maybe I can break her next time.

Adam : Jul 11, 2010 Perfect Day!

I had a great day with the family today. I got up this morning and got out of bed and played with my cars until Mommy came in and got me. When I saw mommy and david I went up to David and started to make him laugh and patted him on the back. Then Mommy, David and I played for a couple of hours. When David when down for a nap mommy and I went into the front yard and took out all of my tools. Then we worked on "repairing" my bike. I liked taking the table saw to it. Good as new!

When Dada and David finally woke up we took a walk over to Target. I was a very good boy and got mac n' cheese for lunch. Mmm..mmm. Then we went home and it was nap time. After my nap we went to the Mummes house to go swimming. I had SO MUCH FUN! I didn't really like the idea of swimming, but I liked the water guns!!! David and I played outside with the Mumme boys. I liked spraying all of the boys and they let me too!! We had a nummy dinner and then I got to play in the basement with all of the toys! I was a very good boy and listened all day. When we got home Mama said, "Nigh Nigh" I said, "Nigh Nigh" and I ran upstairs and went straight to bed. Ahh...this is the life. I hope tomorrow is fun too!

Love,

Adam

Adam : Jul 03, 2010 Dadda

So last night Dadda pointed to a bunch of pictures. He kept asking me who is this. I would say to him "Momma" when he pointed to Momma and "Dadda" when he pointed to Dadda. He was so excited. He's so easily amused!

Adam : Jun 27, 2010 Happy Birthday to me!

I'm turning 2 tomorrow. I had a great birthday party yesterday with Nana & Grandpa Dobbs, Great Gma Shum, Micky and Jenny. We had hotdogs, mac n' cheese, corn on the cob, and green jello for dinner. I liked blowing out my candles, but I especially liked the ice cream. I got lots of toys. A remote control choo choo, an elmo alphabet school bus, a tool set, and a car ramp. I loved opening my presents.

I had a good time with mommy home and the Burks visiting this past week. We went to the zoo, played with water balloons, played in the sprinkler, and played with my play kitchen. I got a little stressed at the end of the week because I'm not used to sharing. I guess I'll have to work on that now that I am two. Mommy, Becky, Trevor and I went to my first movie on Wednesday night to see Toy Story 3. Ten minutes into the movie the tornado sirens went off and we had to wait in the womens bathroom. Then we had to run out when we had a chance and drive home as fast as possible. We waited out the tornado warning in the basement for 1.5 hours. What a night!

Well, I'm catching up on my rest after a busy week.

Adam : Jun 12, 2010 Chef Adam

Wow! I woke up yesterday morning and mommy and daddy told me I had a surprise. I was very worried because the last time they told me I had a surprise it was David, and I just don't think there are enough cribs in the house to handle another surprise like that right now. So, I very cautiously made my way downstairs to the family room and WOW there it was...my deluxe kitchen set. Mommy and Daddy have been on my case lately for trying to cook in their oven and use their dishwasher and microwave. Now I have a whole kitchen of my very own. My favorite part is the sink (I like to pretend to wash my hands and fill my cups up with water) and the phone that I can pick up and hang up. I pick it up and say "Uwwo" and then hand it to mommy or daddy. You see it's never for me. I like to put things in the microwave and then push the buttons while saying "tee tee tee." I spent the whole day yesterday cooking in my kitchen. I didn't even want to play outside. David likes that I have my new toy because I'm so busy in the kitchen that he has free reign over all of the other toys. Win, win!

Other news, I've started to sing my ABC's. I can really only say A, C, E, G, S, X(which is also S), and Z. My favorite is S. I'm always ready at that part of the song. My other favorite song is wheels on the bus. I love it when the wipers go "Swish swish swish" and when the horns go "beep beep beep." I am starting to say a lot these days including Hot, Uwwo (hello), No (in response to someone asking me a question), yes, Achoo, etc.

David is doing well. He's really fast these days. I keep busy just tryign to keep all of my toys away from him. His favorite thing to do is crawl up to something and stand up on his knees. I also have fun with David (but don't tell him that) sometimes I'll just be running around and I catch David watching me and laughing. I like having him with me at bath time because I can splash him with water and after he catches his breath he starts laughing (phew that means I'm not in trouble if he laughs about it). Also, I like to kick my ball and send David chasing after it. It keeps him busy.

Well, that's it for now. You'll have to come visit and I'll whip you up my specialty -- plastic eggs, plastic apple and a cardboard box cooked in my microwave, with a side of tea sprinkled with pepper. Mmm...Mmm...

Adam : May 25, 2010 A is for Apple

"Apple! Apple! Apple!" I could say that word every day all day. This is not my first word, but it's the first "not common" word that I say crystal clear and know what I'm referring to. I like calling my grandparents and saying "Apple!" Of course when I am eating my pears I think they are apples too. But, give me a break, they are both green and have cores.

Adam : May 18, 2010 Yucky, yucky, yucky.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. The family has been sick with the stomach flu. Mommy & Daddy got hit first right after mothers day. I was sick on Sunday/Monday but am on the mend now. It's the first time I've ever been sick like that and it was not fun. But mommy made it all better. Now I was playing in my room with Nanny Lois and David and David got sick all over the floor. Yucky, yucky! Daddy is coming home to take care of him.

So, that's what's going on in our house. I hope everyone else stays healthy!

Adam : May 04, 2010 big boy bed

I sleep in my big boy bed now! I have a lot more room to stretch. There are fewer bars blocking me in but I still choose to stay in bed until mommy or daddy come to get me. David is now sleeping in my crib. I ignore him when he cries. I need my beauty sleep!

Adam : Apr 06, 2010 Pee Pee in the Potty!

I did it again! Mom is quite proud. I don't even need M&Ms anymore. I sat on the potty after dinner tonight and mommy said, "would you like me to take off your diaper?" So I went over to her and let her take off my diaper and then I sat back on the potty and went pee pee. I also wanted to sleep in my big boy bed tonight, but mommy thought I should sleep in the crib instead. I was okay with it when she put my pillow in my crib. I LOVE my pillow. It's a must have. So much more comfy.

I had a great time with the family on Easter. We stayed at a hotel with the Karius grandparents and aunts and uncles. Uncle Adam, Aunt Sarah, Mommy, Daddy and David and I all went swimming in the hotel pool. It was a lot of fun. Back in the hotel room I liked opening everything. Every drawer, the fridge, the safe, etc. I kept trying to put David's formula in the safe and then lock it in there. Uncle Adam decided he should lock the safe so that I didn't stick something in it and lock it with a code no one else knew. So Uncle Adam locked it with the code 1111. So, then I walked up to it and pressed 5555. An error popped up. So then I went back to it and hit 1111. It popped open and I went "ooooohhhh!" The next morning Grandma hid Easter presents all over the room. I got to open the fridge and the drawers and look behind the couch and there were presents everywhere. I'm going to have to make sure I always go through everything at a hotel room to find any presents that may be left behind.

I was a very good boy in church on easter. I wasn't so good during breakfast, but I was a good boy for the Easter service. My Great Uncle Dan was preaching. He also played the trumpet. I liked that. After a short visit with family it was time to head back. I was a bit of a pill because I was low on sleep, but once I got in bed I was OUT!

My Grandparents in Illinois got me a fun Easter toy that lights up and vibrates. My uncle Adam taught me that it was an ear cleaner so now I walk up to everyone and clean their ears with it. I never realized how dirty everyone's ears are.

Well, it's back to bed now. Happy Easter everyone!

Adam : Mar 29, 2010 Potty Time Part?...well I did it again!

Yep, Momma put the potty in front of my TV! Now why didn't I think of that. TV, M&M and no diaper holding me back!
