Mommy gave me a bath tonight. First she stripped me down and I ran away from her into her bedroom. Daddy and mommy came in ten seconds later and found that I had run into their closet and peed and pooped. Tee hee hee. I'm quick to get the job done! Lesson learned by mom and dad!

After a fun thanksgiving with the Dobbs grandparents and GGma Shum I got to go home with mommy and daddy and leave that brother of mine behind. Today it's been just mommy & me. We went to get donuts in the morning and then I got to sit in a big chair while a lady came at me with scissors. I must say I do look handsome and mature now that my hair is shorter. Then Mommy and I came home and got to play with Christmas decorations. I pretty much just wanted to play with the doors while Mommy did all the work,. Then we met daddy for lunch. It was great. I was pretty tuckered out after my day of excitement so I went down for a long nap while mommy finished all of the decorating. Then when I woke up mommy and I played my favorite game -- running from room to room opening and closing all the doors. I could play that game for hours.
Well I suppose my brother will be coming home soon. I guess I'll make due, but I had a good time being an only child for a day.

Well, the verdict is in and I hear that I am going to have a little sister. I really don't know how to feel about this. First of all, now I am going to be a middle child. Second, I will be followed by the first girl. Oh the drama! I just request that everyone not forget about me. I know I'm not really that cuddly of a kid and I'm a free spirit and all, but a little extra attention during this time of transition is all I ask for. Mommy has been doing a good job spoiling me lately. I've been really cranky the past few months, but I'm starting to tame down a bit and get accustomed to the "ones." I like to show off to my parents and I'll stand up in the middle of the room and wait until I have their attention and walk across the room to them. I love the clapping and standing ovations. This is my true motivation to walk. Also, I cut my first molar this weekend. It's about time. These teeth have been making me really cranky but they don't seem to want to cut through. Pretty soon I'll be eating steak with my dad in no time.
Uncle Bryan and Aunt Kristin came to visit last weekend. I had a great time playing catch with a football with Aunt Kristin. I thought it was hillarious! I dressed up as Thomas the train for halloween and we went to vist the grandparents and Great Gma Shum. I liked going up and down the stairs over and over again at Great Gma's house. When we made it back to Gma and Gpa Dobb's house I fell asleep in my highchair I was so exhausted!
Well, that's about it from me for now.

Daddy took me to the doctor today for my one year checkup. I am 28 lbs 6 oz. Still off the charts, but my parents thought I'd be 30 lbs, so I surprised them. I had to get some shots this time but Daddy was quite impressed. I barely even acknowledged the shot. What I didn't like was being forced to be on my back. I'm a free spirit and I need to have my freedom. Mommy was surprised because I was in the best mood ever today. I guess I react opposite of my brother after shots. Mommy and I played cars today. She would roll a car to me and I'd pick it up and say "Yay!" and then throw it back to her. Then she would say, "Ready..." and I would lift my hands to the sky and then she'd roll the car to me, which I would in turn throw back at..I mean...to her. I enjoyed this game a lot. Then we got to go on a nice long walk to Chili's where daddy showed up.
Mommy was gone over the weekend in California so I got to play a lot with Daddy and the grandparents. Daddy even got to see me walk my first steps!! It wasn't much but it was a start. Mommy has noticed that I've been trying hard lately to stand up without holding on to anything, so I'll get it eventually. Other than that things are same old same old around here. I'll try to keep up my good boy behavior, but no promises.

Well, I'm a whole year old today (plus 12 hours). Mommy's already got me drinking out of a sippy cup, eating real food, and drinking whole milk. Mmm..mmm. Adam has been singing me happy birthday for a whole month now so it was no shocker when he came into my room with Mommy this morning and started singing. Of course my favorite part of the song is when we get to clap at the end and say "Yay!" So, now mommy tells me the pressure is on to start walking. I really don't see the point. But, mommy insists because she says I'm getting too heavy. I can't help it that I'm big boned! At least I go up the stairs by myself now, so that makes Mommy happy. Well, I'm looking forward to my big party on Saturday. Hope to see some of you there!

Well, I'm about one week away from hitting the big "0-1." I can't believe the last 12 months have flown by so fast. I've gone from an all liquid diet to eating my brothers leftovers and then some. There has even been talk of taking my bottles away soon. What is up with that! As revenge, I found some old pacifiers lying around and I have now taken to comforting myself with a pacifier in my mouth. I feel that it shaves 4 months off my age and keeps me looking younger.
We went to Grandma and Grandpa's in MN this weekend for a birthday pre-celebration. I got to see a lot of the MN family and enjoyed everyone's company. I got some cool clothes that actually fit and are appropriate for the fall weather that is now upon us. I also got an airplane and books (which Adam snatched away fairly quickly). While at the grandparents my favorite thing to do was to follow the dog around saying "Arf! Arf!" I just chased the dog around ALL weekend. Then I would sit in the middle of the floor with my cheerios and pour them on the floor and laugh while the dog ran around and ate them. Mommy and Daddy kept talking about what a hard trip this was going to be because I can be a "bull in a china shop" (as they like to say). But, I have been nothing but an angel this whole trip. I didn't get into any of grandma's stuff and only tried to eat the dog food once. Mostly I'd play in the grandma bin and again chase that silly dog around.
Well, that's it for now. Arf! Arf! (aka Bye! Bye!)

Mama was running around the house with scissors today cutting everyone's hair. I was the least keen on this idea so I really wiggled around when she tried to snip at my beauty curls! But, mama said I'm starting look like Bozo. Oh mother..that is so 1990s! Anyway she got at the sides of my head and a little on the top but I broke loose. My hair is so crazy you can barely tell, but I guess I look less like a clown now.
The question is...is that a good thing or a bad thing? Hmmm...

That brother of mine will not stop dancing to choo choo soul. He's making me dizzy watching him! It's time for bed. This is ridiculous and I am cranky. It is kinda catchy though..chugga chugga sch! Aww what the heck. It's time to get down and boogie. Next time i'm going to request we save our dance parties for before bedtime.
Nigh Nigh.
David
I am almost 11 months old now. Where has this first year gone. I have 5 teeth now and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cheerios. I could eat them all day. I like to wrestle with Adam. We often play and we often fight. Hey, we're brothers it's what we do. Well I'm off to party.
David
I love to wave bye bye these days. I open and close my hand while staring at it intently. That along with clapping and blowing kisses (aka clicking my tongue to make the blow kisses noise) I'm a really communicator these days. We just got back from MN with the family. I had a lot of fun. I especially loved sitting in the pool with my cousin Naomi. I sat in there forever and liked to kick my feet. Naomi didn't seem to mind. Adam wasn't a big fan of the pool but he liked the bubbles a lot. Mama started on my scrapbook. It's about time! I got to spend lots of time with Grandma. She's my morning buddy.
Off to nigh nigh for me.
Love,
Day-Day
So my parents jam me in my highchair and feed me nasty food. Is started to defend myself by blocking spoons full of nasty food. Ninja like moves you know. Then I clap and smile when they start unloading me. Parents these days!
What a busy week! I'm finally getting around to writing about all of my latest developments. I went to the doctor this week and I weighed in at 27lbs 1 oz. I am off the charts! Adam was 27 lbs 4 oz when he was 12 months old. Like I said...watch out big brother. I've been having a rough week sleeping because my two top teeth cut through. So, I'm up to 4 teeth now. The doctor said to start giving me mushy table food so I am especially excited about this.
Other news - I can now stand. Not only did I learn how to stand 2 days ago, but I stand ALL the time. This legs are made for standing, and that's just what I'll do!
The Burk family has been visiting all week. I had so much fun with all of the boys running around. I like to crawl around and scream and chase them. I have a new BFF named Aiden. We're buddies. We like to eat the fridge magnets together and knock down toys together. I will miss him.
Well that's about it for now. Mommy and I are getting ready for Adam's party now. I think I'll take a nap while mommy finishes up.
Talk to you soon!
David
What a fun weekend. Adam and I spent Saturday with the grandparents. When I got home I barely opened my eyes and went straight to bed. Exhausting! On Sunday the family and I went to church. I'm a very good boy in church. I'm usually being passed back and forth like a hot potatoe while Mom & Dad deal with Adam. Adam was pretty good this Sunday though. After church we went to Costco. I love riding around in shopping carts. I kick my legs trying to get the cart to move on my own. I took a nice long nap today and then hung out with Mom & Dad (Adam slept until 5!!!). Anyway, I have mastered crawling so now it is time to do something else. I like to crawl up to raised objects and put my two hands up on the raised object. Then I stand on my feet hunched over. It's like a game of twister. I don't know what to do after that though so I usually just ram my head into whatever is in front of me. I'll figure out how to stand up eventually. Just you wait Adam. Here I come!!
Well, time for more sleep before my busy Monday.
Love,
David
Last night mommy put me in Adam's room while she got the bath ready. When she came back I decided to crawl from the middle of the room over to the giraffe on the wall (that my Aunt Suzy painted). Then mommy kept cheering me on and I crawled to the middle of the hallway. Today mommy put me on the floor of her room while she got ready and I crawled over to a pile of stuff in the corner of the room and started playing. Then nanny Lois came over so mommy put me on the middle of the floor and I crawled over to my brothers toy car. This crawling stuff is great. It puts a lot less pressure on my belly! Let's see what I can get into now!

Hello everyone. Well we are all finally healthy and we had a fun weekend. Adam and I went to the grandparents house on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. We went to the park. On Sunday mom and dad took us to church in the stroller. Then we stuck around for a picnic. Lots of fun. At church momma had to take Adam out and I kept saying "Momma, momma, momma." Momma could hear me over the loud speaker. Last week I kept getting up at 4 a.m. Dada would feed me and then take me back to bed. As he carried me up i would says, "Dada, dada, dada" the whole way back to bed. My bottom two teeth are really working their way in now. Slowly, but surely! I'm still working on the crawling, but I'm content with my army crawl that gets me around entire rooms.
Well, it's back to bed for me. I'm trying to give my parents peace and stay asleep until 6 a.m. We'll see.
Love,
David
We had a whole weekend with mommy. It was great. I learned some new tricks this weekend. I'm almost 8 months old and I FINALLY broke my first tooth. Yeah! I can't wait to eat chewy things! I woke up on mother's day and said "dada. dada. dada" all day long. A bit ironic I know, but hey it's all I'm capable of right now. I get up on all fours and rock and scootch my knees. I'm VERY close to crawling. Tonight I was playing on the floor and I rolled over and then sat up all by myself. I'm a real mover and shaker these days!
I gave mommy lots of smiles today, so I hope she had a nice mother's day.
Love,
David
Hello everyone. I'm 7 months old now and feeling it! I am quite the mover and shaker these days. I've started to get up on all fours and I wriggle and squirm and roll as if there were no tomorrow. Still no teeth yet. This is quite disappointing to me because I want to eat everything, but I am limited these days. I'll get there. Adam cracks me up. I love to watch everything he does and play with his leftover toys. I started waking up early, but mom and dad put their foot down on that. I'm doing much better now and my naps are getting longer too. So, we're all happy about that.
Well, it's bedtime for me. Yawn.
David
Hello everyone. Wow! What a weekend! I've been super busy smiling at people and making new friends. Uncle Adam and Aunt Sarah came to visit. We had so much fun. On Friday Aunt Sarah and mommy took us to the doctor and then to the riverwalk in Naperville. We got to feed the ducks. Meanwhile, Uncle Adam, Daddy and Mr. Kranman were building my swingset. After naps we went outside and hung out with everyone while they built the swingset. Uncle Adam and Adam were playing with squirt guns. I was getting sprayed from a distance but I kept thinking it was food and trying to drink the water. Then 10 seconds after being sprayed I shot back in my walker. Okay, okay...I have delayed reflexes. But, everyone else found it pretty funny.
I've been eating lots of fruits and veggies these days. Anything mommy gives me I scarf down and don't even flinch at new flavors. I even love my peas! I am starting to sit up on my own now and I reach for EVERYTHING!! Adam better watch out because I will start taking his toys as soon as I can get my little hands on them!
This was my first Easter and it was a great one. I'm happy to be home, but it was great to see everyone. I'll be sure to save some smiles for everyone for next time.
Love,
David
It's been a while. I'm getting bigger and bigger. Mom and Dad think they got me on a schedule. I am on a schedule, but I am a growing boy! So Saturday I got up at 3AM for a snack. After 8 or so ounces I went back to sleep. Today I got up at 5:15 for breakfast. My parents are soo lazy.
I had green beans for the first time. Delicious! I don't know what Adam's problem was. My first time I at the hold can, and asked for more. It's good to get a change at some actual flavor. I'm getting tired of milk and rice cereal!
